At Children’s Dental Associates NLC, we are committed to staying at the forefront of dental care, ensuring that our patients receive the safest and most effective treatments available. That’s why we’re sharing the latest update from the American Dental Association (ADA) regarding radiography safety.

Recently, the ADA released new recommendations that signal a significant shift in the approach to X-ray procedures. According to these guidelines, the use of lead abdominal aprons and thyroid collars during dental X-rays is no longer deemed necessary. This recommendation applies to patients of all ages, including those who are pregnant or have thyroid issues.

This change is based on extensive research and evidence demonstrating that modern digital X-ray equipment offers sufficient protection against radiation exposure. By eliminating the use of lead aprons and collars, we can streamline the imaging process, making it more efficient and comfortable for our patients.

We understand that change can sometimes be met with questions or concerns. That’s why we encourage our patients to reach out to us with any inquiries they may have about these new recommendations. Our team is here to provide clarity and support, guiding you through this transition with confidence and reassurance.

We have always considered the exposure of our patients when taking X-rays and only take them based on the needs of our patients and their risk factors for cavities.

Thank you for entrusting your oral health to Children’s Dental Associates NLC. We are honored to be your partners in wellness.
